Since graduating from the Institute of Design, I have been working with the Regional Transportation Authority as a Project Manager in Information Design and User Experience. I am the sole creative resource and user experience designer at the RTA and assist all departments. I lead all design efforts in the planning department on a variety of mediums: web, print, kiosk, and mobile. I am responsible for designing and maintaining regional transit information standards and guidelines and establishing human interface protocols for transit information based on the user needs. In addition to the look and feel, I write personas, scenarios, storyboards and analyze data gathered from testing information architecture, interaction diagrams, wireframes and prototypes. I coordinate directly with the service boards, present to the board and manage outside consultants.
My recent online works include managing and designing (from user research to launch) goroo.com beta, RTA's new online trip planning tool, which combines multiple transportation options into a single resource — including the CTA, Pace and Metra, as well as driving, walking and biking directions and RTAchicago.com, RTA's informational site including trip planning.
Another project which I would like to highlight is the Interagency Signage Project which includes managing and designing new transit wayfinding and information signage for the region filling the gaps of information for our users between service modes (from user research to installation).
